Step-by-Step Video Tutorial
Follow along with our easy-to-understand video guide to master the basic wrap technique:
The Basic Wrap
-
Find the Centre: Locate the middle marker on your wrap and place it at the centre of your chest.
-
Wrap to your back: Wrap both sides around to your back.
-
Create an 'X' on Your Back: Bring each end of the wrap over the opposite shoulder, crossing them on your back. Make sure to keep the material flat and not twisted.
- Create an 'X' on Your Chest: Bring both shoulder passes over and cross them firmly over your chest. Again, making sure not to twist the material.
-
Form a Seat for Baby: Grab the crossed shoulder passes and tuck them under the centre panel to form a secure seat. This is where you need to ensure that you pull firmly, but not too tight.
-
Secure the Wrap: Bring the ends around your waist and tie a double knot at your back, side or front, depending on comfort.
-
Placing baby in Wrap: Supporting your baby the entire time, hold your baby high on one shoulder and gently slide the first leg under the first shoulder pass (on the opposite side). Then gently moving them to the other shoulder, repeat the process on the other side.
- Set the Wrap Correctly: While still supporting your baby, find the 'X' pass material closest to your body, spread that over baby's bottom from knee pit to knee pit and shoulder to shoulder. Repeat on the other side.
- The Last Pass: Find the last pass (with the logo tag). Pull that up and over baby's feet, then pull material up to cover from baby's bottom to behind baby's shoulders. The baby's feet should not be covered with material.
- Check the positioning: The final step is to ensure that you've checked baby is positioned correctly and safely (following the T.I.C.K.S Guidelines). Gently tuck their pelvis to they're are in a squat 'M' position with their bottom lower than their knee's - this ensures healthy hip development.

🛠️ Troubleshooting & Tips
-
Baby Feels Too Low: Ensure the wrap has been put on firmly before placing your baby inside.
-
Wrap Feels Loose: A loose wrap is not safe for baby, tighten the wrap before tying the final knot. The fabric should feel snug but comfortable.
-
Baby Seems Uncomfortable: If you've checked the firmness of the wrap and the positioning of baby is correct we recommend deep squats, bouncing, swaying and shushing to calm baby.
