Jasmine is mama to beautiful one year old Noah. She shares her wonderful & positive insight to motherhood.
Tell us a little bit about you?
I am currently a stay at home mum with my 1 year old boy, Noah. I am currently pregnant with our second bundle of joy who will be joining us in July.
What were your initial thoughts/feelings when you found out you were pregnant?
Happiness, blessed, nervous.
How was your birth? Did it go as planned or how you expected?
I felt my birth was positive. I went into spontaneous labour 16 days before my due date. I didn’t think about my birth much before going in as I wanted to keep an open mind. I had a vaginal birth but ended up with a second degree tear due to Noahs hand being up but other then that it was an amazing experience and I’m ready and excited for next bubs arrival.
How did you find the transition into motherhood?
I honestly found it exhausting but very rewarding. So many different emotions that made me feel so at peace in my life like I knew I was so ready to become a mother.
How has life changed for you since becoming a mum?
Life has changed in many ways! From showering alone, to going to the toilet in peace, to no one stealing your snacks! I don’t just think and do things for myself, I now have another little human to care for, to feed, to talk for, to teach things and to love. I am more confident and open with expressing myself now and I have become stronger as a person. I care less about what people think and I focus on being the best mum I can be for my baby.
What is your favourite part of being a mum?
I love lots of things! That unconditional love. The cuddles. The pure joy. Just seeing my baby happy, seeing them smile, seeing them laugh, seeing them learn new things every day. Teaching and guiding them through life. I love it all.
What do you do for you outside of motherhood?
I ensure i get outdoors and explore, I rest when needed, I exercise daily, I do mindfulness activities to help with my mental and physical health.
